took a trip yesterday 400 miles in my 92 honda civic. while i was gone i ran it extremely low on gas for a little while and think i may have burnt out the fuel pump. problems: car dies when coming to a complete stop, after it dies i couldnt get it started agian until i let it sit 10-15 minutes, when i went to start it it would turn over starting slow and turning faster as i held it. i'd push in the gas n the car would start up but wouldnt want to idle. today i cant get the car started after getting home. any ideas? no check engine lights or anything else are on either.

 

In addition to a bad fuel pump, you also might want to consider a clogged fuel filter and a faulty main relay.

 

thanks for the quick reply. im going to start with a fuel filter since thats the cheapest then try the main relay. hoping its not the fuel pump because heard theyre pritty expensive

 

It would also be wise to verify that you have spark at the plugs.
