2005 Civic No Start???
Hiya Folks, just bought a 2005 Honda Civic 1.6 V-Tec SE.... car has been in an accident....Got it cheap.. as a business i repair accident damaged cars and i really liked this one so im gonna keep it for myself, Have a taken a caliper off etc on o/s as im working on the bodywork.. just can't get it to start... Turns over and sounds like its going to go but won't is it becuase the braking system isn't pressurised? so it is a safety feature? just wondered if there is something im overlooking or a common fault?

2001+ civics use a passive immobilizer system, the keys have a transponder which have a code, in order for the engine to start the ECU needs to read the code that its stored in the ECU. If the ECu doesnt read that code from the key you are using, it wont let the engine start.
Hope this helps

Right the light isn't blinking so it accepting the key and turning over..... im thinking fuel supply?.. would the recovery people immobilse the fuel supply somehow? ive checked the fuel pump fuse and that is fine..
