Default 2006 civic ex ac compressor

I own a 2006 Civic ex 4 door. It has 114000 miles on it and the ac compressor just quit working. The ac compressor clutch froze up and a few garages told me I need to replace the entire compressor. I am having trouble finding a compressor and I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get one that is refurbished!? Any help would be extremely awesome! Thank you!

Or you could just replace the clutch. Im in the same situation as you. Did your AC belt break also?

Usually I've seen that a burnt out a/c clutch is caused by a siezed compressor. May not be the case for you, but just a thought.

You can get an entire rebuilt compressor with clutch for about $300 on Honda Parts at HondaPartsDeals.com: Honda Accessory, Honda Car Parts, Honda Auto Parts, Honda Accord Parts

Theres a way to test if its the compressor or clutch isnt there? By sliding the plate on the side of the clutch. If it moves the compressor is still good and the clutch just locked up. Thats what this forum told me.

You should also use gauges to see if there is still pressure in the lines. If the clutch gets hot enough it will melt the seal on the compressor and let the refrigerant leak out. The whole compressor should be replaced then.
