Default 2006 civic si problem

Hi everyone I am new to this forum and need some help. I just bought a 06 civic si. It's agreat car but i have a problem with it and was wondering if anyone else was experiencing the same thing. When the car is fully warmed up it seems to rev in between gears. When I shift at 3000 RPMS the tach revs over 3000 and then drops down. The engine sounds like it is racing or reving. The other day I shifted at 2500RPMS and the engine rev up to 3000 RPMS before dropping down. I have driven sticks all my life and this to me is not normal behavior when shifting any car not just a honda. I brought the car to the dealer and they said they called honda tech supprt and this was normal for the si model. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. Thank You, Tony, My email is:

This is normal. It's the drive by wire system...give it time and you'll get used to it. Congrats on the new ride!

yes, it's true. drive by wire hangs on to revs.

try shifting at a higher point and see what happens.

I'll drive like Mario and shift in the upper RPM range and the revs fall back pretty quickly.

Congrats on the ride. Fun car to drive. I usually shift 3500-4000. Welcome to the forum.
