2020 Civic won't crank
So... 2020 Civic Sport. Battery seems okay; jumping doesn't help. When trying to initiate start sequence, the brake pedal seems to not depress as usual. Feels really hard. Pushing start button does nothing. Is this a relay or fuse problem? Starter was replaced one year ago. Battery replaced just a few months ago. Any ideas?
This is my daughters car. Too many interconnections on systems for my old approach. Basic problem restated was that we were unable to depress the brake pedal enough to allow the crank cycle to work. Brake felt hard as though prevented from depressing. Maybe a relay or fuse or who knows what. Anyway, update is that she had the car towed to her dealership for them to troubleshoot. I'll let you know what we find out.
I'm not much good at social networking of any type, but there is great value in being able to reach out to people with similar problems, and hopefully solutions.
Thanx for letting me join your forum. (I'm also on the CRV forum as I own two of those. It has been helpful. My first Honda was a 1974 Civic. Great car!)
So... The dealer said the starter failed (just past it's one year warranty), shorted out due to an oil leak from the valve cover gasket. Repair estimate in the neighborhood of $1600 to cover both issues. Major ouch for a car that should be better, I think.
Thanks for reading. Responses are still welcome. Hindsight is, well, you know...
