4-2-1 header?
I'm getting a header and I'm leaning towards buying a dc sports 4-2-1. I'm primarily just going for a sporty street car, not too over the top.....for now anyways. So I hear the 4-2-1 has better mid-range power, other than the 4-1 which has better top end.I would like to get a used one in good condition preferably ceramic. Because I don't have much moula and am looking to spend like $150, butI don't wanna getsomething cheap on ebay. If need be I could save up and get a new one for like 300-350 (I think something like that). How much hp gain would you guys say I'm looking at with a dc sports header? I've got a 98 civic EX (stock engine), with an aem sri, and magnaflow cat back exhaust. If anyonehas any good info on good headers for that kind of price or any other tid-bits I would like to hear it, thanks.
'Constructed from ceramic coated mandrel bent mild steel or polished T-304 stainless steel, the DC Sports 4-2-1 One-Piece Header maintains a high standard. DC Sports headers are dyno tested resulting in maximum horsepower and efficiency. The one-piece header eliminates the two middle flanges making the header lighter and giving it a cleaner look. To help lighten up the header their new lightweight flanges are used on both the head flange and the collector flange. CNC-machined flanges ensure a perfect fit every time. 12-14 horsepower, mandrel bent tubing, hardware and instructions included."
haha no, 14 horsepower is waaaay too much. You'll get 10 or 15 at the most, evenwith top of the line I/H/E.
Not saying you shouldnt get it
a DC header would be awesome man, and i say go 4-2-1, they're much more practical than a 4-1, and it can be easier than the 4-1if you want to install the header in two pieces and then put them together once they are attached to the block and the midpipe.
