Default 6 DAYS LEFT! Fix It Ticket For Taillights

So okay i've been around the block a few times with my civic, so it seems like i would know what up but i need your guys help with this. I was driving 2 nights ago and went past a cop. He immediately turned around and pulled me over. I asked him why he pulled me over and come to find out i have NO taillights, like none at all. It used to be that my inner taillights on my trunk wouldnt light up (which i posted a thread about but nobody answered), but now they are both out and they only work when i push the brakes. I checked all the engine bay fuses and relay and they look okay (althoguh on the diagram none of them refer to the taillights anyway), checked the filament on all the bulbs, checked all harnesses, etc. and i cant find anytrhing wrong. Ideas?? I've got 6 days to fix it

I really dont know, you might want to check the switch that brings them on with your lights. If its not that, maybe the wires that run the length of your car?

just get a test light , & pop out a brake light bulb in back , have somebody to step on the pedal & see if you have power there, if not check the switch

AOL.COM provides sound advice -- you should verify that the light plugs are not receiving system power.

You also may want to unplug the connectors serving each light and test whether they are clean and making good contact. Likewise check that the circuit is grounded properly.

Double check that fuse #32 in the under-dash fuse/relay box is good (see small picture).

If you don't already have the wire-harness information, it is in the larger picture.

Two questions, did you check the fuses under the dash? That is where the headlight and taillight fuses are, not in the engine bay fuse box. Other question would be are your taillights still aftermarket or did you put stock ones on when you de-riced your ride?

This may sound silly, but have you checked to make sure that the switch is working right. That sounds like the best place to start.
