79 civic accelerator cable problems

79 civic accelerator cable problems
The accelerator cable has broken 3 times in the last 6 month. Breaks in the same spot, where cable connects to small barrel that attaches to carb. Not original engine, it's a 1.8, believe from an accord. Has anyone else had/heard of this problem. Thanks
