Default 86 Civic Dies at 70

I have an 86 civic hatch 1300. The car has not had any power since i got it which is fine as i bought it as a commuter car. While driving down the interstate doing 70 the car bogged down and then died. The car runs fine untill i give it gas then now it dies. I have talked to several people and alot of people think it is the tps. The problem is that this is built into the throttle body and i dont want to spend the money to replace the whole thing. Does any one know where i can get just the tps for an 86 civic with the 1300 motor? or any other cheap easy ideas to try an fix it? Any help would be great.
Thanks

Is it actually fuel injected? Most of those had a carburetor. The carb system does not have a TPS. If it is fuel injection, the TPS can be tested with a voltmeter.

A common reason for sudden decrease in performance or dying entirely is a skipped timing belt. Take the upper belt cover off and check the cam timing.

Well here's a link for a throttle body on ebay, idk if it's the exact one for you car or not or if that would be the problem. But here's the link for a cheap throttle body: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/84-87...Q5fAccessories
