Default 89' Civic ECU Error Codes (16,17) Price i should expect?

Hi guys,

First off let me say great forum!

Second, as in the title, i have some problems. When i first started to notice the problems i had no clue what was going on, my MPG just dropped and at higher RPM's my engine felt like sandpaper, gritty (thats the best i can do to explain it). Just reciently i had to brilliant idea to check the ECU, at which point i was greeted by error codes 16 & 17. How much do yall think it will cost to repair worst case?

The fuel injector code makes sense considering the engine response i was feeling, but what does the speed sensor impact?

Thanks!

The ECU uses electronic signals sent by the speed sensor to optimize engine performance.

The CEL codes suggest that the vehicle speed sensor and the fuel injectors and/or the injector resistor may be bad.

You may be be able to guestimate repair costs by calling reputable mechanics and asking how much they would charge to replace these components.

I get spurious code 17's on my '91 from time to time. If the check engine light is not on while driving, the condition that caused the code may no longer exist.
