Question Can't get SRS error codes from 98 Civic EX

I have a 1998 Civic EX that has the SRS ight on all of the time. The light will not re-set, so there must be a problem. I have tried to jumper the service plug, and the data link pins 4 & 9, but the SRS light won't blink any codes. It just stay,s on. Does anyone have any idea's.

SRS has to do with your airbags, and nothing to do with Check engine lights related to your engine which are pulled from the service plug. Usually, if a part of the SRS system is disconnected, the light will come on. Here is a DIY guide on resetting the light.

I know. That's what I'm saying. The SRS light is on constantly and it won't re-set. This tells me that there is an actual problem in the SRS system. According to everything I've read, I should be able to get the light to blink the SRS error code by jumping the #4 and #9 pins in the data-link connector. This procedure does nothing. The SRS light just stay's on.

Check that the SRS module is actually installed and the fuse is OK. If the module is completely dead or missing, a circuit in the cluster will default to having the light on all the time.

srs fuse is good. The light will reset, and then come on again.
