Default 90 civic - is it battery or alt?

So the last two days, my battery light has come on while I have been driving. High revs make it go off.
Sounds to me like the alternator is going out. whaddda you think?

I got my Y7 in the car for like a week now, think I may have crossed a wire somewhere haha, I turn on the lights and the idle ends its own life. Fix that for me mr. punisher.

If the alternator belt is tight and not slipping, then your alternator is almost surely in decline. Also make sure the alternator mounting and adjustment bolts are good and tight.

Mine was just doing exactly that and I found that the bottom bolt for the alternator was missing. If yours isn't, its probably the alternator going out.

I'm still in my work clothes - dress shirt, pants, tie.. I don't wanna go outside and lay on the ground, or mess around under the hood. lol. I didn't notice anything missing. Turned the car on a minute ago and ran it. And go figure, it all worked properly. lol.

Its funny though - the light comes on and off a lot. And comes on from dim to bright. Its like a little strobe light. I thought my subwoofer was just killing the power too much. but ran for 20 minutes with my system turned off, and it still acted like a strobe. Hopefully I make a **** ton of bonuses this month and can get the ZC in.

So, traffic killed my car today. lol. got into thick traffic and couldn't keep my RPMS high enough. Car died. Was just able to get off to the left shoulder. Which was mega sketchy. There was JUST enough room for my car to get off the road. I was an inch from the guard rail and my right tire was an inch from the yellow line.
Was able to get a new alternator AND battery.
$16.

Epic win. =)

Car runs fine now.
