You need to see if it's a carburetor system. The carburetor system does not have an electric fuel pump in the gas tank, or a main relay. The fuel pump is mechanical, it is attached to the head of the engine and driven by the camshaft.

I've just been told by a mechanic that my car has a dual carburetor system.
This explains why I can't hear the fuel pump, right?

Smile Problem solved

Turned out the ICM that the mechanic installed was a faulty (non-OEM) one.

Have driven the car now for almost 1000k without any stalling!
