just for ***** and giggles, you're pushing in the brake in when/before you try and shift into drive, right?

I cannot believe you would ask me if I am applying the brake to get it out of park, no **** man... just need to know if anyone has experienced this problem before?

Download the 92-95 Civic manual at the link in my signature. The AT chapter describes how to adjust the cable. It's worth a try.

You could disconnect the cable at the transmission so you're not actually shifting, just moving the lever. That would show if it is the shift lever/cable being balky or the transmission itself.
