Default 94 civic 1.6l dohc vtec zc engine ecm...

Hi guys i was searching on the forum for awhile , wondering to know if somebody have any information about a ecm fittment. My mother has a CIVIC SI sedan with a 1.6l dohc vtec zc engine, this vehicle is out of usa, ecm starting acting weird, when the engine is off and trying to turn it on, it just cranks happens while the CEl light is on, after few minutes and after the MIL light is off teh engine starts normally and the car runs fine, this happens at least 3 or 4 times a day.

Im suspecting a bad ecm. Now, my question is; my ecm number should be 37820-p30-j50, which other ecm could fit on this car? will the sohc vtec ecm fit on this vehicle?

Any help will be apreciated, thanks in advance.

Resolder or replace the main relay first. A bad main relay will do exactly what you describe, and it is a much more common problem.

Hi mk378, thanks for the advice. Is that main relay soldered directly on the ecm or is it located somewhere else on the vehicle?

My mother told me that the mechanic that is working on the car changed it already, but i do not thrust too much on new parts specially if them are aftermarket parts. I had too many bad experiences with after market parts

Thanks.

DOHC ZC were not vtec. If it is vtec, it is a b16. This makes a pretty big difference when replacing the ecu. Just a heads up.

Hi there,
Thanks MBRENT for the info, i did a small investigation over here and i figured that out. My mother's car computer is P29-T51. I guess that a p06-a51 will work almost perfect as soon as the CE light stays off. She never goes over 50MPH.
