I understand your point. My intent was to provide you with advice that I thought would most quickly get the solution to your problem. I apologize that this advice instead resulted in offending you.

 

So, will a 3 position after-market (on/up, off/middle, on/down) switch work?

 

Yes. It needs to have 6 terminals on the back (also called "double pole"). A spring return to the center off would be almost essential, so it doesn't get left on.

Ok. I got me a motor. It has a 4 wire plug, I think red and red/black and blue or green and green/black. Anyone knows what these 4 wires represents? I was not expecting 4 wires, I thought it would have only 2. HELP!

 

Not sure that this will help. The circuit diagram (see picture) for power windows in 92-95 Civics indicates that the driver's window motor has four terminals and a component ground wire, whereas window motors in other doors have only two terminals. For the driver's motor (see picture), it looks like wires 1 and 2 power the motor, whereas wires 3 and 4 may power the driver window AUTO function.

 

I will use a double pole, momentarly on /off / momentarly on 3-position switch on wires 1 and 2. The switch I got inverts polarity in each throw. Will this make sense to you?

OK. Done deal. Wires 3 and 4 did the trick. This is a very cheap way to get power windows in a civic, and way easy. The switch and the motor/regulator were available brand new thru ebay and at the end I think I spent like 50 bucks. Thanks for you all help. If anyone wishes to get any tips or advice on doing this, email me at franciscoperez@adelphia.net. This is much easier than trying to figure out oem wiring and dealing with relays and modules. Its a very easy 2 wire/ 1 switch installation.

 

Sorry about the typo in my earlier post. The circuit diagram clearly shows that wires 3 and 4 power the window motor.
