i have been reading the whole electrical section on that car, the only common thing i find is that those two systems share a common ground, here is everything you ever want to know about that car, (and 10 things you didnt..lol)

i just remembered.. it was so simple i forgot..... the nut that holds the rotor in place... see if its there.. happened to me once, everything seemed to work but no spark etc.
same exact symptoms, i was even going up a small hill when it happened!!!

Even if the rotor was loose and it wasn't sparking, the injectors would still fire. The fact that the injectors don't fire and the plugs don't fire is a little fishy. Do you know if teh injectors are getting a signal to fire. There is a probe thing that you can use to test it. You hook it up to the connector on the injector and it will light up whenever the injector recieves a signal to fire.
i dont think you have a non interference engine, however, i lost a belt before and no harm was done. unless your g/f heard a pinging sound you are probably o.k. points to romance on this one!!!
that link i sent you should give you step by step on installing the t.b.

I replaced the timeing belt on my brothers 94 civic and it didnt do any damage. If you are planning on doing this yourself make sure you replace the tensioner pully. That is actually what broke the belt on his car, the tensioner pulley locked up and broke the belt. I believe if you get the timeing belt kit from someone like Oriellys the tensioner comes in the kit. You probably want to ask them to make sure, but I think it does. Someone in forum probably knows also.
