Default 94 EX Civic

I have a rear drivers side window that will only go down and not back up when the switch is applied. I pulled the door panel off and took out the whole regulator/motor assembly. I checked the voltage with the window switch in the up position (@ the red/blue stripe wire) and saw about 13V. I checked the voltage with the window switch in the down position (@ the red/yellow stripe wire) and saw about 2V. With the switch held in the down position, I could hear a slight click in the regulator and also noticed the engine idle sound go down a little like someting was pulling on the power to the motor. Problem is, I don't know what to do next. Do I replace all of it, the motor, or the regulator?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

Take the motor off of the regulator and confirm it will spin in both directions (at the same speed) when you press the button. If it does that, motor should be OK but regulator is jammed.

Well, not sure what happened to it. Just before I got your reply, I was trying to get some more voltage readings to the switch. Low and behold after messing with that long enough (hard to do with just the two hands), it starting going up and down again. I used some RF contact cleaner on all the connectors, let it dry out and then put it all back together. Not sure how long it will last, but it is closed for now. Thanks for the help and I'll know what to check the next time. Any idea what the problem could of been if it started working again when I was messing with it?
