Unhappy 94Civic engine ran hot

Hello all, I have a 1994 civic dx manual 1.5 w/160,000 on it. My car overheated and had a coolant smell, so I pulled off the road and coolant was slowly running out of my tail pipe with a puffing sound and white smoke . My oil did not look like chocolate milk. This would be all signs of a cracked head . I need some help, does anyone know where I can get a good japanese DM or american DM engine for my 94civic? I'm in the Kennesaw, GA area...any recommendations on where to get a engine installed? Should I let a place that sell the engines install it? Thank you all ladyciv

it could just be a blown head gasket, doesnt mean the head is cracked.
look on craigslist for motors, there are tons of honda's around you, im not to far from you. post up what you find and how much ur getting charged, if you cant find a good deal, i may be willing to come down and do the work for you.

this person has a motor for sale and lives in ga

Thanks 94civichb for your reply. What do you feel about JDM vs USDM is there any diff.? If I purchase a engine from a wholesale dealer, should I let them install it? or what!!! Recommendations please!!! I miss my baby sick with a blown head down and out :-(

i would suggest since you are not looking to soup it up or anything, buy the same engine thats in it, get a d15 engine. any one from any 92-95 will work and be a very easy swap out. call around and get estimates on the cost of getting the engine swaped.

What engine can I swap out, that's faster w/less change (mount, ect.) WoW, the estimates ranged from $450. to $1000. JDM Engine prices ranged from $500. to $650. for the same d15. Thanks
