If it was full, remove the radiator and flush it.

Do you get a good flow thru it? You should be able to turn a garden hose wide open into one end and have it immediately pour out the other end.

im j/w if the water pump could be bad???
how would i tell if it is?
i toke my friends thermostat out and put it in mine..
his is vtec so im thinking it might work.
i drove my car and it stayed between C and H.
but i popped the hood and the top hose and valve cover is burning hot.
and the bottom hose was warm. so idk i paid $550 for the car...
and can you tell me if its really a mini me swap...
the block is a d15b7 and idk want the head is, but it is vtec...

Why did you put stop leak in? What part was leaking?

Water pumps don't typically go bad, though on any newly acquired used Civic you should change the timing belt and water pump to avoid catastrophic failure later.

I really think your radiator is blocked.

A VTEC head on a D15B7 is indeed a mini-me but you can worry about that later. Is the VTEC solenoid wired to anything?

no its not wired the guy said i would need a ecu and wiring harness... and the thermostat that i put in it works cuz i put it in boiling water and it opened...
the engine has under 1000 miles... he built it for racing on short tracks and he also said he built it for high revs....

That looks like the previous owner cut off the end of the hose and reclamped it. That hose is probably the original one that came with the car, and the whole thing has gone soft. It's the same size as generic heater hose but you may need to buy one from the dealer that's pre-bent into the U shape.

Do not keep driving while your temperature gauge is more than the normal level of halfway up. You risk engine damage even if it hasn't gone all the way to "H".
