Default 95 ex engine trouble

hello all new member coming to ask a question.

i just recently purchesed a 95 civic ex , the other day i was driving and suddenly the car decelerated and the died! i tried to restart it fired up once then puttered out. i have some basic car knowledge so i looked over the engine and noticed one of the spark plug wires was bad so i thought new wires would fix it, to no aval it has not started. but it still cranks but just does not start, i am thinking there may be a block in the fuel system somewhere but i would like to see if any of you have had a similar problem? if so please let me know what you did to solve the problem. again it cranks just sounds like it is not getting the fuel to ignite that is why i am thinkg a fuel issue. thank you guys for any help you can send my way.

I hope you changed the spark plugs with the wires. Did you check for spark? If you car doesn't start, spray some carb cleaner through the throttle body. If the car starts and dies then you have a fuel problem. Note this will only work on a car that only cranks and does not start at all. If it sputters or anything like that you might not be able to tell if the carb cleaner caused it or not. You could hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel system and check the fuel pressure, this would be the best test. You could try to have the injectors cleaned if you think that they might be clogged. But make sure that they use the machine that pushes the detergent through and they don't just put some fuel injector treatment through the gas tank. If you want to put a fuel treatment in the gas tank, SeaFoam works pretty well.
