Crank no start but sometimes starts when you let go of the key

Pull the brake handle up. The BRAKE warning light on the dash is powered from the same circuit as the ignition. Thus it should stay on both with the key at II (run) and III (crank). If the light goes out while cranking or when you jiggle the key around, the ignition switch is bad.
