Default 96 Civic Ex - Oil leak

Hello all ,

I have a very very slight oil leak that has dumbfounded me. I mean literally a drop of oil now and then. I will try to explain this best I can.

The drop of oil is on the passenger side of the car or the right side of the cat converter. On a piece of metal that is impossible to see behind. It was fresh oil and does not always build up enough to fall to the ground. Not near the oil pan, not right under the oil filter or PCV. All of which I checked anyway.

I also checked the VTEC Solenoid, the valve cover gasket.

Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
MP.

Very much appreciated.

I can't seem to find the rear seal only the front seal. Is it called by another name?
If it's loacted right near the VTEC Solenoid wouldn't I see where the oil is coming from. I have to look in that area closer when I get home.

Assuming you mean this...

The distributor o-ring is another common leak. It will come out where the distributor meets the head.

I'll check out the O-ring also.

I'm getting the feeling that I "SHOULD" be able to see where the leak is originating from.

you would be surprised where oil can travel with the engine vibrations helping it along.
