96 civic stalling
My son has a 96 civic that is all stock and for the past couple of weeks when he comes to a stop after driving for awhile the car will just stall. He says the car will turn over but will not start but here is the strange part if someone boosts him off with jumper cables the car cranks. I had him take to AutoZone today to have the battery and alternator checked and they are both fine could this be a battery cable issue? I saw allot of people with the same issues but really no solutions.
Check that the connections at the battery are secure. When you put jumper cables on you bump them and may tighten it up temporarily.
If the car drives OK but stalls when stopped, see if pressing the gas slightly will keep it going. If so, the IACV may just need cleaning.

Just got back in town and I found that the negative cable was loose and corroded, cap and rotor looked bad plus some how the bolt had fallen out of the rotor and was laying in the distributor. I replaced all of the parts and at this moment it is running fine, thanks for the help.
