Default 97 Brake Lines

My car barely stops at all, I can push the brake pedal to the floor and it feels like there's nothing happening.

I took a look at my brake lines and two of the lines look completely rusted out in both the front of the car and the back. It's leaking in front of the rear axle.

I tried looking up how much it would cost to have a shop replace them and I saw some people saying they were quoted up to 1500 and 2000 to do it.

I called a few shops today and they told me they can't give me a quote until they look at it, except for one shop which said a ballpark estimate is $200.

Do you think this is something I can do myself to save some money? Is the $200 quote accurate? (I would go there tomorrow and find out, but they're closed on weekends).

Thanks

-Kyle

So the rubber lines to the calipers are leaking, or the hardline under the car are leaking? Try and pinpoint the leak if you can and go from there. Might be an easy fix

They're the steel lines that run under the car, two of them are leaking just before they run into the gas tank area.

I got a quote from a repair shop yesterday, they said it would be 8 hours, and around $650. They also said you need to take the gas tank out so Im not sure how much of a driveway DIY project this would be

yea, that isn't something i am experienced with either. If the hard lines are done for, you can make them yourself, but again, it won't be the easiest of tasks to complete
