Default '97 Distributor removal???

I've got a heater hose leaking, and it's under the distributor. But before I go out in the garage and tear into this problem...I need some confidence.!!!!! I gotta remove the distributor to get to this hose, and want to know what problems I might encounter if any.?? Is putting this thing back together going to cause timing issues???

I highly recommend against removing the dizzy, as you will have to redo the ignition timing afterwards. Unless you know how to do this, that is. Then by all means, go ahead. All you have to do is remove the 3 bolts that hold it on. They're basically a triangle. You can't miss the one on the top.

The trick to undoing the plug is to use a screwdriver to pry the plug itself off the metal it's mounted to. With one hand, press the plastic release on the whole plug, while pushing with a flathead screwdriver to pull it off the metal. Then it will effortlessly come apart.

All i do is make a mark with a screwdriver across the dizzy/head surface, so that when I bolt it back on its in the exact same position.

Extension with articulating joint helps get to the bottom bolt.

No secret to the wiring plug. Push button and pull.

Like Hobo said, the plugs have a locking feature. You have to take them off of the metal bracket first, then they can be unplugged.

maybe a little too late but dont take it off unless you have too. I changed the hose right below the dizzy, what helped me alot were a pair of long curved needle nose pliers.
