98 civic dx, starter turns the motor but engine want start

Default 98 civic dx, starter turns the motor but engine want start

while driving the car the other day, it of the sudden started to spurt and spit, then the motor shut off, car will crank but want start, i have spark, fuel and compression. what else could it be?

How old is the timing belt?

I replaced the belt this last Saturday, so I'm totally out of ideals.

just because you have spark and fuel doesn't rule out that theres not a problem with the spark or fuel.

are you getting proper fuel pressure, are you getting strong enough spark. is your timing correct. these are all questions you need to ask your self.

From my experience with Honda on matters like these it was almost always a spark issue.
Im not saying that this is your issue but if i where you i would double check everything. if you have a buddy with the same car swap out distributors and see if Yours will start his car or vice versa.
