Default 99 Civic Driver Side Power Window

My window has been grinding for a day or two and finally it stopped working. The motor works but the window wont go more than 5 inches up and cannot be assisted any further. I opened the door up and can see that one of the blue brackets (spacer?) that connects to the motor seems to be broken. There are two of these things and the one on the bottom seems to have moved or cracked in such a way that the spring surrounding it is off track/loose. My question is, after fiddling with it for a while I haven't been able to get it seated correctly -- does this mean I have to get a new motor? Can I find a new bracket? I still haven't removed it from the door, but have removed the glass for more room. Thanks in advance for help and any advice! I hope to have this fixed before it rains here again!

I think we had someone with the same problem just a week ago... it sounded like a motor needed replacement... you can always snag one from a junkyard for super cheap and just as good, or you can be screwed by a dealership

Correct! I yanked the regulator out and saw that the cable had frayed and gotten snarled so badly that the blue clip broke. Called a local junkyard and they had a regulator and motor which, after I installed it, works perfectly. Thanks!
