My son took the car to Autozone with a suspected alternator problem. Their diagnostic test showed alt. is OK but the idle control unit is bad. Car will not idle so this seems reasonable. BUT, is this a common problem and is the Autozone diagnotic computer accurate? This part is very expensive.

Also, this car has been blowing interior light fuses. Can this cause be the cause of the idle controller failure? Would appreciate a quick response as we have to fix the car.
