Hey,

I'm having some issues with my transmission, It does not shift when its suppose to most of the time this happens is when I'm flooring it onto a on-ramp. It will get to 5 or 6k and just stay there when the redline is 7k. For example today I getting on 295 and I floored it and it it hit 6k stayed there for a few seconds and I was just about to let off the gas when it made a few loud poping noises and shifted, my freind said she smelt something burning but I did not smell anything. This also happens everyone once in a while when im just driving it just stays per say in third gear much longer then it is suppose too then shift real HARD and the whole car lurks. No check engine light, no codes. I have no idea what it could be. Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

Check the level of the automatic transmission fluid when the engine is warm. It may be low.

Ok, I checked the fluid level and it was fine. I went ahead and changed out the fluid. It was black and had about 10k miles on it. My buddy took a magnet to it and said I had clutch material in it, he said that could be the culprit. Also the Tranny has 106,000 miles on it. It is still shifting rough, I have not put the pedal to the meddle yet to see if it would get stuck at 5 or 6k again thou.
