Exclamation 99 Hatch Dies when I press gas pedal only 80,000 miles!!

Okay so heres the deal: So I let my hatch get to empty about a week or two ago and it was having a hard time starting (obviously) so I got her to the gas station and filled her up and she started right up. As soon as I left the gas station, i went to the gym, came out and it wouldnt start. I mean at all. Nothing. So i walked home and got a ride down there about 2 hours later and it started right up just fine! So i thought nothing of it, i figured it was just becAuse it was on empty before. So fast foward a couple days im driving to the store and when I press the gas it dies. It didnt start back up at all again so i pushed it home. So i thought it was the fuel pump and changed my fuel pump 2 days ago. Now my car willstart, kind of, but as soon as i press the gas pedal it dies. So it will barely be running and ill give it gas and it just completely shuts off. Please help!? Does anyone have any clue whats wrong?
