I completely understand, autozone checked my code and said it was the ckp sensor. When I looks like the ckf sensor. Sheesh... This if fun.

Well, I replaced my A/C condenser fan and it seems to have fixed the A/C problem. I am going to get that distributor housing next...

Ok, so if I purchase a Cardone Reman / Distributor part 31-17432 from autozone .com, is it really as easy as 3 bolts and an o-ring as far as installing goes? This should fix my p0335 error?

well, the distributor pivots when you loosen the bolts, that's how the ignition timing is adjusted. if you remove the distributor, you will have to check/adjust the ignition timing when you put the new one on.

Won't the computer adjust the timing for you?

Not enough. The ECU will try to, but if it's off by more than just a tiny bit, the ECU won't be able to change it enough.

Well, I replaced the distributor. Unfortunately, this did not fix my problem. I even replaced the CKP like I originally thought was the problem. I am lost... I guess after all the money I spent...might as well go to a shop and get an engine diagnostic. Any last ideas before? Can I just increase the idle rate?

Did you properly set the ignition timing like I told you about? Maladjusted ignition timing will cause the engine to run pretty rough, you can't really rule out that until you adjust it properly.

What exactly is the problem after replacing the distributor?

If you reset the ECU and run the engine or drive the car, does the CEL remain on? If so, is code P0335 still thrown?

After placing the distributor, nothing has improved. I marked before I removed the old distributor so I would be sure to have it in the same place. I replaced the CKP under the timing belt cover as well since that's what I was originally going to do. I cleared the code and it came back up. P0335. Extremely low idle once the car is warmed up a little- around 100 rpm. It does not want to go over 4000 rmp which makes it hard to get on the highway.... or to maintain even 60 mph.
