Accelerator Pedal Issue

Accelerator Pedal Issue
My accelerator pedal has at least about 1inch or even 2 inches of space between from being open and then applying the accelerator before anything happens.
Is this because maybe the car is abit old. or something else ?

RE: Accelerator Pedal Issue
It's adjustable. You can tighten the cable where it attaches to the throttle on the engine. There's a long threaded part with two nuts on either side of the bracket. Loosen those nuts turn them both to move the cable back to take the slack out. But if you go too far, the car won't idle properly.

RE: Accelerator Pedal Issue
it's on the intake manifold. there will be a black cable coming out of the fire wall, and attached to the valve cover. and there's a bracket that it's attached to on the manifold, which is where you adjust it.
(this is kinda funny, because i mentioned doing a DIY on this just recently. i guess it might be a good idea to do it. lol)
