Sticky/Stiff Accelerator Pedal

I have an 04' Civic 1.6 3DR, and it feels like the accelerator pedal is massively dampened,
its hard to describe but its like theres a chunk of soft rubber or a sponge under the
pedal its quite difficult to push down, its not squeaky or jerking, its smooth as anything
but its knackering my leg on long drives, any helps really appreciated, el-

try checking the accelerator cable. happened on my 93 civic and found out that it needed lubrication. sometimes the sleeve that covers the cable gets torn and dust gets in and mixes with the grease to form gunk....that's if the 04 civic has a cable and i hope its not electronic though.
Pull off the air cleaner and inspect the throttle body and throttle cable. The throttle body may be sticking and need to be cleaned, or the throttle cable is binding and needs to be replaced.
