you're not adjusting the pulley itself, your adjusting the distributor.

said that already huh?.....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you don't. When you adjust the disributor it advances (or delays) the firing. does that answoer the question.

right. it changes when the plugs fire in comparison to crankshaft (piston) position.
