advice on replacing water pump
I'm about to walk to walmart and get some distilled water, so i can fill the cooling system, you don't want water with minerals mixed with your coolant, it eats the crap out of aluminum. just been one stupid thing after another. I need to fill the system, then it has to be run for a few minutes, then the crank bolt gets turned another 30 degrees. entire new procedure on torquing that bolt from Honda.
anyone know if the adjuster screws for the valves can be replaced themselves? I'm thinking thats part of the valve tappet itself, some dumb **** tried to adjust these valves before I got the car and half the adjuster screw heads are stripped.

really? I just did mine in Feb, had no idea about it. (T-belt and water pump). should be ok though.
Hope you get things sorted. I'd be pretty upset if I had to try to fix stuff like that - when its been screwed up by someone who didn't know what they were doing!

the new procedure is:
first torque the bolt to 140 foot pounds, now loosen the bolt fully, remove the bolt and put oil on the bolt as per the service manual, (that's another overly complicated thing) torque the bolt to 20 foot pounds, now mark one of the points on the bolt with white paint and mark the pulley 60 degrees s from it, tighten the bolt until the mark lines up with the 60 degree mark. install accessory belts, and run the car at idle for at least 3 minutes, now tighten the bolt 30 more degrees for a total of 90 degrees.
