Default Air conditioner blows

Ive got a 97 dx. It got up to 105 degrees here today and my car is like an oven. It takes a good half hour with the AC on to get to a normal temperature. The windows down method doesnt help much. I have about 36lbs of pressure on the low pressure line. Does the AC just suck on these cars or is it just mine? Would tinting my windows help at all? And is there anything else I can do that would help? btw I doubt it means anything but brown crumbly stuff is coming through all my vents. Appears to be some kind of filter thats falling apart im guessing.

The important question is "what's the high side pressure"? It should be 220-295 PSI.

I live in Houston and, if I must park in the sun, it may take 10 minutes or more for the interior of the car to feel cool. Sun shades and window tinting should help. The old deteriorating gasket material also blows out of my vents but does not seem to have any negative consequences that I can tell.

I have a crappy walmart gauge that just reads up to 200 so I havent tried measuring the high yet. I guess that will be my next step.

Check your high pressure. If you do have a leak, most likely one of the rubber rings between one of the lines going bad. Easy fix. Your a/c is fine when properly charged, so its not just civics being bad. Also, are you sure your fan is coming on when it should?
