any ideas? 92 lx
I have a 92 civic lx automatic. It sat for a year and with a tranny leak. Im trying to get her running at her best
and safely again.
So far I have...
~ fixed the tranny leak (replace tranny coolant hoses)
~ Regrounded the engine, tranny, and battery grounds
~ New fuel filter
~ A couple new vacuum lines
~ New oil, filter, and transmission fluid... Ran some flush through the engine first now i got some engine
treatment in with oil and replaced oil plug... and some seafoam in the tranny.
~ new bosch platinum plugs and some beck/arnley wires
~ New battery
~ cheap SRI
~ i drained the gas and refilled the tank halfway... due for more now.
~ new O2 sensor
~ removed the injectors, fuel rail, and pressure regulator and cleaned them with carb/choke cleaner.. the
injectors had black **** caked on so once cleaning it i also cleaned everywhere they connect (lot of gunk)
~ cleaned up the engine the best i can
After all that she still bogs down horribly in the lower RPMs. I have to manually shift my auto due to that problem.
If im in D3 or D4 and it downshifts any i have to shift down to boost the rpms to keep it running right. After
replacing the O2 sensor it helped a tiny but not much and the shifting is still off. Sometimes it actually goes in
nuetral for a second when trying to shift. Im not getting any CELs since i replaced the O2.
Im not just your average teenager trying to boost my car. Ive driven many 4 cyclinders and this one lags more than
any. Its not right. I just cant figure out whats wrong. If you have any ideas please let me know. Ill appreciate
anything.
and safely again.
