Default Audio System 98 Civic ex

So, I bought my civic 2 months ago.

It already came with 2 aftermarket 800watt speakers and one 2-channel 800watt amp.

Here's my issue. There is practically no sound coming from the front speakers and tweeters. Is this because the amp and speakers are both 800watts and the amp needs to be higher?

Or is this probably a wiring issue or blown out speakers?

Check the wiring , speakers, amp, and the fuses. It could be blown speakers. You can ohm out the speakers to see if they blown. If you have a good spare speaker you can check out the amp. Also, check the fader control ****.

Are they 800 watt speakers or subs? and is the amp hooked up the front speakers/tweeters or to subs?

They are 800 watt speakers. Not subs. I don't think the amp is hooked up to the front speakers. I know it is hooked up to the rear speakers.

@ gwl: "Ohm"?

they weren't 800w speakers. and if you were giving them 800w that is why you arent hearing anything. If you gave your front speakers 800w rms they are completely fried.

Haha you do NOT have true 800 watt front speakers.

I want pictures of these speakers, and of your amp(s) (esp. where the wires hook up).

No, no, no. The front speakers are stock. LOL.
Well, I am going to relocate the amp to my backseat this week, then I will check out the wiring and fuses.
Hmm, I might have the watt amount wrong for the speakers. IDK, my brother has more audio knowledge than me and said they were 800.

But he isn't the smartest guy in the world. LOL

If you have stock speakers, running them off the HU should be fine. your speakers are only like 17 watts rms or something ridiculously small like that......I'd just keep them on the HU unless you want to run a big risk of blowing them

Haha yeah he's way off
