auto to maunal wires
i bought a car that had an auto to manual swap done and had a lot of problems with getting the car to pass ready monitors test(cat, 02s, evap not ready) after miles and miles of driving i noticed that some of the wires were burnt from the under dash harness, so i decided to put the right manual engine harness and under the dash harness in, and now my question is do i have to put the manual under the carpet and door harnesses in too or can i keep the auto harness there, i know that the reverse lights would be different but i think that would be it right? i have the manual harness bu5 looks like a lot of work though, was hoping there might a simpler solution to the reverse lights
okay well i tried it anyways and it works, i replaced the engine wire harness and the under dash harness the rest of it will plug in exept for the cruise control(manual and auto crusise control units are different) and the sun roof plug was different too, but other than that the tail lights and reserve lights work fine, i have an srs light but i will try to figure that out
I do not mean to steal your thred but i have a question that goes along with this... i did the manuel swap as well and my cruise controll does not work. how did you get that to work.? I did not change my harness' but my brake lights work but my reverse lights do not? once again sorry but this could help a lot. thanks
As for the reverse lights since you didn't change the harness you will have to run 2 wires from your reverse light switch on your manual tranny to a harness where your auto stick was,
here is a good detailed how too with good pictures to do this, also has a part that says how to do the cruise but is not confirmed if it works, its a large post the info is towards the bottom just look carefully so you don't pass it, hope it helps
