Default Average City HX mileage

what's a good average for a 98 5speed hx in the city, for someone just "relearning" how to drive a standard.....I'm assuming she is revving at a pretty high rate before shifting, I usually shift around 2k to 2500 in my 94 si, I drive pretty miserly.....

I get close to 40 easily and if I drive like a granny, I can get to the high 40's.

i get an average of about 35 mpg but i am having a CEL and i think it might be my cat converter giving me problem so MPG could be a lot higher if i get that fix, but its too expensive on an HX

I get about 35 to 37 on average. When gas was above $4 a gal. I tried some of the hyper-miling tricks and I got as much as 42 mpg.

yeah, I hope that doesn't happen with the cat on this car, might have to hollow it out and fit a universal down the pipe and move the 02 as well, that's an expensive cat and 02 sensor, if I had to do again, I wouldn't buy the HX
