Default b16a swap to my 94 coupe...few problems!!!

hey guys i just swapped a b16a into my 94 civic ex coupe...im having a few problems, first off the idle is funky i changed TB's from a 93 DA GSR and it semi fixed the problem, now i put a 94 GSR distributor on there cuz it had a 93 LS distributor on it and someone had shaved the 3rd ear off to make it clear for vtec, it runs the same with the 95 gsr disty but im not getting any VTEC, i cant tell whats going on it feels like..idk like its KINDA cracking but not like it should nowhere near it, im running the stock singlecam P28 ecu, and have no codes except o2 sensor..also my speedometer aint working but im guessing thats just speed sensor cuz it worked fine when i had the single cam in my car...PLEASE HELP!!..cuz right now it feels like worse then a ls non vtec my singlecam vtec would kill this thing..it urns good though no smoke, nice smooth drive just no ***** and no hard vtec engage

ECU incompatibility?

For idle problem, check/clean the EACV and fast idle valve.

Fixing the O2 sensor code may solve your running problem.

i got mostly all figured out now..just it bogs up/down @ idle..ppl say idle ai control valve..the thing on the back of the intake manifold 2 bolts hold it on and there 2 coolant lines to it i cleaned the pisso ut of it and took the 3 screws holding the plate on and cleaned in there to and put it back on and made no difference..anyone else have any other idea's?, thats the only thing left and the car runs minty but that **** is ANNOYING!..lol

Did you solve the O2 sensor trouble code?

Bleed the cooling system of possible trapped air, and also check the fast idle valve:

Id say the p28 ecu has a lot to do with it... you should swap out the ecu anyway (revlimit probably doesnt match up, vtec crossover won't be right, etc)

You were hitting "limp home" mode with the stock ECU. When those have triggered on just about any code at all, it will limit the rpms and disable the VTEC. So you have to resolve all the codes before it will run right. A chipped ECU probably has this bypassed.

Air in the cooling system can also cause an idle surge.
