ball joint bolt spins, need help today

Default ball joint bolt spins, need help today
is the bolt supposed to spin, the threads are ok on the bolt and nut, but it gets snug and then wont go on anymore without spining the bolt. does that mean that it is bad???

Put a jack under the lower control arm and lift slightly so as to force the ball joint shank into the arm. Then you should be able to tighten the nut.
