Default batery prob. screw around with my ecu?

hey, I need to switch over my battery in my civic but i was wondering if disconnecting the power will mess with the map settings on my ecu?

I'm running a B18 with i think a P28(not sure) and its chiped and the guy mapped it out and i dont want to lose it.

thanks for the help

there is a possiblity that ecu will reset itself to default factory settings.

hurry up when changing the battery lol

Maybe it doesn't work, but know that when we want to reset the ECU, we disconnect the battery for at LEAST 10 seconds. Maybe it means that if you unplug it 3 seconds the ECU isn't reseted...

I wouldn't worry about it. Removing the battery will erase the long term fuel trim. However, after you drive your car around for a bit, the ECU will reset the long term fuel trim. The engine might run a little bit funny for a while until the fuel trim is adjusted. I also believe there is something you can buy that plugs into the cigarette lighter that will provide the electronics with a little bit of current so stuff like fuel trim won't get lost during a battery disconnect.
