Default Battery Light on & alternator problem

Hi everyone,
I have a 01 Honda Civic LX 1.7L with 86K in the past 7 months I have changed the alternator out 4 times and the battery once. It all started 7 months ago while driving and the battery light came on and the car finally shut down after depleting the battery. I took it to the shop and they changed out the battery and alternator, said both were bad. Two weeks later the battery light starts flashing again and the shop once again said the alternator was bad, so they changed it out. One day later the same thing, alternator. Now six months later the alternator is out of warranty and the light comes on and I did a voltage check on the battery with everything on and it was 11.6 Volts. I changed the alternator again myself with one with a lifetime warranty. Now3 weeks later the battery light is flashing on again and I don't want to just change the alternator again. Please Help!!!
Thanks.

Does the Alternator have a built in voltage regulator?

Yes the alternator has a built in voltage regulator. I don't see how it could be the starter because it starts fine and the drain on the battery only comes from driving.
