Default bought new carpeting, no directions?

hey guys, i just recently purchased new carpeting for my civic, and it arrived a couple days ago. well, i opened the box, and the carpet looks beautiful. the label on the box is correct. everything is great except.... no instructions on installation... so i went to the website in which i ordered it and the directions say to not glue or attach the carpet to the floor in any other way other than the seats bolting it down. this doesnt make much sense to me, it seems like it'll be loose everywhere. has anybody ever done this? any recommendations? thanks guys!

My guess would be to completly remove font seats fromt bolts. Remove old carpeting and just install and tuck new ones away through the mouldings of the car. my logically guess.

ive seen DIY tutorials on carpet installation on some forums with lots of pictures.

all i can say is do a google search and you may run across one.

one thing i do know is you will have to take out the seats and center armrest thingy and rip out the old carpeting.

you may also need to get some dry ice to harden the spots of carpet that dont come out easily so you can literally chisel them out.

good luck with the install. lol

well, i attempted at doing it today, removed the seats, center console, seat belts, and all other necessary stuff. the carpeting didnt come with any cutouts or plotted spots for seat holes, etc, so i think im just going to get it professionally done. does anybody know where i could get it done at? what type of shop?

Well you know where the holes are right? just do it yourself. all you need is a screw drive to poke the holes in the carpet, or a knife. anything sharp and narrow really.

Yeah, when you get your old carpeting out, just lay it over the new one, trace your cuts, and cut them yourself. You can always cut a smaller hole, and just trim them to fit what needs to be fitted. I can see myself doing the same thing in my coupe, it wouldn't be that awful hard.

And yes, I would think the mouldings around the doors and etc would hold the sides of the carpeting down. It would probably save you lots of money to try it yourself.

In the front, there will be a few of those plastic push pins, and in the sides, that holds the carpeting in. You might have to poke some holes, but it should be pretty straight forward.. I wouldn't know who would do an install to be honest, unless maybe a honda shop would, but it would be a heck of a price tag.

Hope ya get it!

They might, if you have some local body shop, give them a ring and ask em, at least they can refer you to someone that might be able to handle it for you, they might know someone who does it out of their home and save you some $$.
