Smile Brake Light Problem

Hello, I've a Honda Civic 1996 Hatchback. My brake lights will not work; we checked the fuse, bulbs, and the switch itself (checked for continuity on the wiring that the brake light switch connects to, and the brake light switch). Everything seems fine, however, one of the bulbs might be burnt out though I am not fully sure if it is. If one bulb is burnt out on the brake lights will the other brake lights not work? I've heard someone say that could be possible because of how the wiring works, but not sure? Also, we checked the turn signals and they do work on the rear- not sure if that helps. Um, I think that's all.

Anyone know anything else to try please let me know!
