Default brake pedal!

ok, so i was bolting on a factory spoiler to my 2000 EX. bolted it on, it looks nice. then i was doing the wiring for the LED brake light. i hooked it all together, and pressed the brake pedal to test it. the wires started to spark, then all the lights went out. now when i press on the brake, no lights come on, and now i cant shift out of park (its an AT) i thought it was the little button under the brake pedal, so i replaced it. that didnt work. it may be a fuse, but im not sure. any thoughts?

thanks!

Most likely the fuse. I think it is under the dash but it could be under the hood. With no power to the pedal switch, the shifter interlock won't work either.

first check all the fuses, under dash and under hood. but to shift the car out of park theres alittle plastic plug on the shifter plate ontop next to the shifter. i use either a tiny flat screw driver to pop it out, then push down with your key or something into that hole straight down and youll be able to get it out of park. i found that out afew weeks ago when i poped mine out.

You might want torecheck the wiring that you just installedfirst, if you got sparks, replacing the blown fuse will just get you more sparks, and another blown fuse, if not a fire. make sure you don't have the hot and ground switched

Disconnect the new wires entirely and get the car working again as stock.

Then try again. You could try feeding the spoiler lights direct from a battery (WITH A FUSE IN LINE) to see if it lights up.

I'd check the wiring again. Fires are bad for cars.
