Default Broken Alternator Mount -- Help!

Purchased a used 2008 Civic EX a year ago July. Fantastic car. Gave it to my lovely wife. Last week after putting on about 20k miles the alternator fell off! I purchased the car knowing it was a crash title. However I was assured the damage was all body...which had been well repaired. It now appears there was enough damage that it cracked the upper mounting point that the alternator bolts to, which eventually failed. This mounting point appears to be a cast part molded as part of the block. I welded it back on only to have it fail a couple days later. What I'm looking for is an alternate way of mounting the alternator. Is anyone aware of anything I can do?

Did you buy the car from a private owner or a dealer ship?

Private owner. Even if from a dealership with the number of miles we put on the car there is probably nothing we could do with them either.

If I had the time...and talent...I would get some 1/4 inch steel bars and make a custom mounting bracket by careful bending and drilling to affix them to several bolts in the area, making a platform to which I could then mount the alternator. I may even end up having to use a longer serpentine belt, but it should work. My problem is it is beyond my capabilities. I know what needs to be done, I just don't have the tools or talent to do it. Therefore I was wondering if perhaps someone else has already solved this problem differently.

..Well..if I was you I would either get a new engine block altogether(yes..it will be alotta work)...OR reinforce that mounting bracket with 3 times the support it had before. I would use support 2 support bars to do the job. It's a job you would have to do if you want your car working again...............................Or you can pay someone someone to do it that welds for a living.
