Default bum speedometer

speedometer works when it feels like it.... after driving for maybe 20 minutes it will kick in for maybe 5 then go right back out. i've been told it was a cluster, or maybe even a short in the wires any1 have this happen to them before? if so how did you fix it? this is crazy annoying

When your speedometer doesn't work, does your odometer also not work?

This suggests that the speed sensor is bad.
